AN ACT
1Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2act relating to the public school system, including certain
3provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5laws relating thereto," further providing for oath of office.
6The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7hereby enacts as follows:
8Section 1. Section 321 of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30,
9No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, amended
10November 22, 1968 (P.L.1079, No.331), is amended to read:
11Section 321. Compensation; Oath of Office.--All persons
12elected or appointed as school directors shall serve without pay
13except as hereinafter provided. Before entering upon the duties
14of their office each shall take and subscribe to the following
15oath or affirmation, which shall also be given to
16superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals,
17assistant principals and business managers, and which may be
18administered by any one qualified to administer an oath, or as
19hereinafter provided:--
1I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, obey and
2defend the Constitution of the United States and the
3Constitution of this Commonwealth, that I will allocate school
4resources and effect educational policy solely for the purpose
5of ensuring that each student learns to his or her intellectual
6capacity, and that I will discharge the duties of my office with
7fidelity.
8Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
