AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for organization of commission.

3The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4hereby enacts as follows:

5Section 1. Section 301(a) and (c) of Title 34 of the
6Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

7§ 301. Organization of commission.

8(a) Composition.--The independent administrative commission
9known as the Pennsylvania Game Commission shall consist of eight
10competent citizens of this Commonwealth who shall be well
11informed on the subject of wildlife conservation and restoration
12and who shall be appointed by the Governor, by and with the
13advice and consent of [two-thirds] a majority of the elected
14members of the Senate.

16(c) Term of office and compensation.--The members of the
17commission shall hold office for terms of [eight<-] four years

1each and may continue to hold office for a period of time not to
2exceed six months or<-] four years and until a successor is
3appointed and qualified.[, whichever occurs first. <-[A member of
4the commission appointed to fill a vacancy for a period of four
5years or less may be eligible for appointment to a full eight-
6year term.] A member of the commission who serves [a full eight-
7year term or fills a vacancy for a period of more than four
8years] three consecutive terms shall not be eligible for
9reappointment to the commission. [until a period of eight years
10expires.] Commissioners shall receive no compensation for their
11services, but may be reimbursed for travel expenses.

13Section 2. The amendment of 34 Pa.C.S. § 301(a) and (c)
14shall apply to members of the Pennsylvania Game Commission who
15are appointed on or after the effective date of this section.

16Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
