1Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in criminal homicide, further
3providing for the offense of involuntary manslaughter.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 2504(b) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 2504. Involuntary manslaughter.

10(b) Grading.--[Involuntary]

11(1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, 
12involuntary manslaughter is a misdemeanor of the first
13degree.

14(2) Where the victim is under 12 years of age and is in
15the care, custody or control of the person who caused the
16death, involuntary manslaughter is a felony of the second
17degree.

18(3) Where the victim is in need of medical care and the
19person caused the death by denying the victim medical care

1through act or omission, involuntary manslaughter is a felony
2of the second degree.

3Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
