1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for penalties for exceeding
3maximum weights.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 4945(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:

8§ 4945. Penalties for exceeding maximum weights.

9(a) Gross weight violations.--

11(3) If the gross weight of a vehicle or combination that
12transports municipal waste subject to the act of July 7, 1980
13(P.L.380, No.97), known as the Solid Waste Management Act,
14exceeds the applicable gross weight allowed by section 4941
15or the registered gross weight allowed by section 4942,
16whichever is less, the fine imposed under this subsection
17shall be doubled.
