AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, in licensing of drivers, further providing for
3expiration and renewal of drivers' licenses.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 1514(a) and (e)(2) of Title 75 of the
7Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

8§ 1514. Expiration and renewal of drivers' licenses.

9(a) General rule.--Every driver's license shall expire on
10the day after the licensee's birthdate at intervals of not more
11than four years as may be determined by the department or, in 
12the case of a license issued to a person who is less than 21 
13years of age, on the day prior to the date that the person 
14becomes 21 years of age. Every license shall be renewable on or
15before its expiration upon application, payment of the required
16fee, and satisfactory completion of any examination required or
17authorized by this chapter.

1(e) Noncitizen license expiration and renewal.--

3(2) If the expiration date of the INS credentials or
4documents exceeds four years, the license shall expire one
5day after the applicant's date of birth but not more than
6four years from the date of issuance of the license or, in 
7the case of license issued to an applicant who is less than 
821 years of age, not later than the day prior to the date 
9that the person becomes 21 years of age.

11Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
