AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for definitions and
3for statement of financial interests.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 1102 of Title 65 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:

8§ 1102. Definitions.

9The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
10shall have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the
11meanings given to them in this section:

13"Political party officer." An individual holding a Statewide
14or county political party office of chairman, vice chairman,
15secretary or treasurer.

17Section 2. Section 1104(a) of Title 65 is amended to read:

18§ 1104. Statement of financial interests required to be filed.

1(a) Public official or public employee.--Each public
2official of the Commonwealth or political party officer shall
3file a statement of financial interests for the preceding
4calendar year with the commission no later than May 1 of each
5year that he holds such a position and of the year after he
6leaves such a position. Each public employee and public official
7of the Commonwealth shall file a statement of financial
8interests for the preceding calendar year with the department,
9agency, body or bureau in which he is employed or to which he is
10appointed or elected no later than May 1 of each year that he
11holds such a position and of the year after he leaves such a
12position. Any other public employee or public official shall
13file a statement of financial interests with the governing
14authority of the political subdivision by which he is employed
15or within which he is appointed or elected no later than May 1
16of each year that he holds such a position and of the year after
17he leaves such a position. Persons who are full-time or part-
18time solicitors for political subdivisions are required to file
19under this section.

21Section 3. A political party officer shall make all required
22filings under 65 Pa.C.S. § 1104(a) beginning May 1, 2013, and
23each May 1 thereafter.

24Section 4. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
