1Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2act relating to the public school system, including certain
3provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5laws relating thereto," further providing for funding for
6charter schools.

7The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8hereby enacts as follows:

9Section 1. Section 1725-A of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.

1030, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended
11by adding subsections to read:

12Section 1725-A. Funding for Charter Schools.--* * *

13(a.1) Every student attending a charter school shall be
14counted in the average daily membership of his or her school
15district of residence.

16(a.2) In addition to all other payments due a school
17district, the Commonwealth shall pay each school district making
18payments to a charter school under subsection (a)(2) an amount
19equal to one-third of the difference between the amount paid by
20the district to the charter school under subsection (a)(2) and

1the State per-pupil funding to the district.
