1Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for additional
3points in grading civil service examinations.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 7103(a) of Title 51 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 7103. Additional points in grading civil service
9examinations.

10(a) Commonwealth examinations.--Whenever any soldier shall
11successfully pass a civil service appointment or promotional
12examination for a public position under this Commonwealth, or
13any political subdivision thereof, and shall thus establish that
14he possesses the qualifications required by law for appointment
15to or promotion in such public position, such soldier's
16examination shall be marked or graded an additional [ten] 15
17points above the mark or grade credited for the examination, and

1the total mark or grade thus obtained shall represent the final
2mark or grade of such soldier, and shall determine his standing
3on any eligible or promotional list, certified or furnished to
4the appointing or promoting power.

6Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
