AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of June 11, 1947 (P.L.565, No.248), entitled
2"An act providing compensation to certain persons who served
3in the military or naval forces of the United States or of
4any of her allies during World War II; providing the method
5of making payment to representatives of persons who, because
6of death or incapacity, cannot personally receive
7compensation; imposing certain duties on the Adjutant
8General; making an appropriation, and providing penalties,"
9extending the time during which applications may be filed for
10veterans' compensation.

11The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
12hereby enacts as follows:

13Section 1.  Section 5 of the act of June 11, 1947 (P.L.565, 
14No.248), known as the World War II Veterans' Compensation Act,
15amended June 14, 1961 (P.L.370, No.203), is amended to read:

16Section 5.  Application for Compensation.--Application for
17compensation shall be made to the Adjutant General on such forms
18and in such manner as he shall prescribe.

19Applicants shall state on their application whether or not
20they have applied for or received a bonus, gratuity or

1compensation, of a nature similar to that provided for by this
2act, from any other state in the Union.

3All applications shall be made, (1) personally by the
4veteran, or (2) in case of death or mental incompetency
5preventing the making of a personal application, then by such
6representative of the veteran as the Adjutant General shall by
7regulation prescribe. An application made by a representative
8other than one authorized by such regulation shall be held void.

9The Adjutant General shall not accept or consider any
10application filed with him after the thirty-first day of
11December, [one thousand nine hundred sixty-two] two thousand 
12fifteen.

13Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
