A RESOLUTION
1Designating October 17, 2014, as "St. Anthony School Programs
2Day" in Pennsylvania.
3WHEREAS, For more than 60 years, St. Anthony School Programs,
4a Catholic-based inclusive educational environment for children
5five to 21 years of age with Down syndrome and other
6intellectual disabilities or autism, has helped thousands of
7students live their lives to the fullest; and
8WHEREAS, St. Anthony School Programs provides students with a
9unique inclusive special needs education program; and
10WHEREAS, Individualized lesson plans determine each child's
11level of inclusion, and special resource room support gives
12students every opportunity to learn in a safe and loving
13environment, enabling them to grow and become contributing
14members of society; and
15WHEREAS, The apartment/life skills training center helps
1students become more independent, teaching them skills they need
2to succeed after school; and
3WHEREAS, St. Anthony School Programs is built on kindness,
4understanding and growth of spirit; and
5WHEREAS, On October 17, 2014, St. Anthony School Programs is
6hosting an annual dinner and auction at Heinz Field in
7Pittsburgh; and
8WHEREAS, It is fitting to recognize a school that has
9enriched the lives of thousands of students in this
10Commonwealth; therefore be it
11RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate October
1217, 2014, as "St. Anthony School Programs Day" in Pennsylvania.
