A RESOLUTION
1Expressing condolences on the death of Clair Eugene Paules and
2honoring his life and contributions to his community of Red
3Lion.
4WHEREAS, Clair Eugene Paules, 87, an active member of the Red
5Lion community, died on June 20, 2014, in York, Pennsylvania;
6and
7WHEREAS, A graduate of Red Lion Area High School and Lehigh
8Valley College, Mr. Paules served his country for three years in
9the United States Army Air Corps during World War II; and
10WHEREAS, Mr. Paules, a retired project engineer, served as a
11firefighter, fire police captain and lifetime member of the Leo
12Independent Fire Company in Red Lion; and
13WHEREAS, A past commander with the Coast Guard Auxiliary,
14Flotilla #1405, Mr. Paules also worked as a boating instructor
15and boat examiner for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission;
16and
17WHEREAS, Mr. Paules made many contributions to his community
18through his leadership in a variety of organizations, including
1the Boy Scouts, Junior Achievement, Jaycees, Tall Cedars,
2Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign
3Wars, County Honor Guard, Republican Club of York County, Red
4Lion Municipal Authority, Red Lion Area Historical Society and
5Adamsville United Methodist Church, among others; and
6WHEREAS, In his spare time, Mr. Paules enjoyed boating,
7camping, hunting, fishing, slot-car and go-cart racing,
8vacationing in Indian River, Delaware, and spending time with
9his wife of 66 years and his children, grandchildren and great
10grandchildren; therefore be it
11RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives express
12condolences on the death of Clair Eugene Paules and honor his
13life and contributions to his community of Red Lion.
