INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, JUNE 23, 2014
A RESOLUTION
1Designating July 20, 2014, as "Veterans Appreciation Day" in
2Pennsylvania.
3WHEREAS, Men and women from Bradford County and throughout
4this Commonwealth have faithfully served in the armed forces of
5the United States; and
6WHEREAS, Throughout this nation's history, from the
7Revolutionary War to our presence in Iraq and other areas of the
8world, men and women of Bradford County and the other counties
9of this Commonwealth have answered the call to defend our
10freedom, our liberties and our ideals; and
11WHEREAS, Throughout the history of Bradford County and this
12entire Commonwealth, many of these men and women have paid the
13supreme sacrifice by giving their lives or their freedom to
1perpetuate the unique concept of life, liberty and the pursuit
2of happiness upon which this great nation was founded; and
3WHEREAS, Each year, for the 26th consecutive year, a picnic
4is held in honor of all veterans; therefore be it
5RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage all
6citizens of this Commonwealth to take part in honoring the men
7and women who have served our nation.
