1Urging the United States Army to reconsider the temporary
2suspension of the production of Bradley Fighting Vehicles.

3WHEREAS, The Bradley Fighting Vehicle has been vitally
4important in protecting<- soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines
5valiantly <-our military personnel valiantly defending this nation
6abroad for more than 20 years; and

7WHEREAS, The York facility of BAE Systems, Inc.,<- and more 
8than 1,400 individuals are solely dedicated to the production <-is 
9the sole producer of Bradley Fighting Vehicles <-in the nation;
10and

11WHEREAS, The United States Army plans to temporarily suspend
12the production of Bradley Fighting Vehicles having a clear
13negative impact on the<- 1,400 1,000 workers and suppliers of the
14York facility; and

15WHEREAS, A temporary suspension of the production of Bradley
16Fighting Vehicles would force highly skilled workers to
17transition to other projects or jobs and negatively impact

1future production of Bradley Fighting Vehicles to the detriment
2of our troops and nation; therefore be it

3RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
4Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge the United States Secretary of
5the Army to reconsider the temporary suspension of the
6production of Bradley Fighting Vehicles.
