A RESOLUTION

 

1Honoring the charitable and community achievements of Ms.
2Faatimah Gamble, a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

3WHEREAS, Ms. Faatimah Gamble is a lifelong resident of
4Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and

5WHEREAS, Ms. Gamble has utilized her extensive experience in
6real estate investment to cofound, with her husband Kenneth
7Gamble, Universal Companies; and

8WHEREAS, Universal Companies is a group of organizations
9dedicated to rebuilding urban America through comprehensive
10services; and

11WHEREAS, Noticing the lack of health education in Universal
12Companies, Ms. Gamble founded The Wellness of You, Inc., in
131996; and

14WHEREAS, The Wellness of You, Inc., is a nonprofit
15organization whose mission is to introduce healthy lifestyle
16practices to medically underserved communities; and

1WHEREAS, Over the last 17 years, more than 50,000 individuals
2have benefited from the programs, workshops and events of The
3Wellness of You, Inc.; and

4WHEREAS, The Wellness of You, Inc., produces self-esteem and
5character-building programs to help adolescents; and

6WHEREAS, The Wellness of You, Inc., produces an annual
7Children's Wellness Health Fair assisting more than 2,000
8students and their families; and

9WHEREAS, The Wellness of You, Inc., is the first organization
10in the nation to recognize medical professionals for the
11difference they have made in community health; and

12WHEREAS, The Wellness of You, Inc., recognized these medical
13professionals with the coveted "Tree of Life Award"; and

14WHEREAS, Ms. Gamble has been the recipient of numerous awards
15for her community and philanthropic efforts; and

16WHEREAS, Ms. Gamble currently serves as the president of The
17Wellness of You, Inc., co-chairperson of Universal Companies and
18is a member of the Board of Directors of the Universal Institute
19Charter School; and

20WHEREAS, Ms. Gamble's future endeavors include focusing on
21youth programming and health advocacy in the areas of preventive
22medicine and obesity education; therefore be it

23RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the
24community and charitable achievements of Ms. Faatimah Gamble.
