1Designating October 1, 2013, as "College Radio Day" in
2Pennsylvania.

3WHEREAS, Recently, Neumann Radio became the official State
4Headquarters Radio Station for this Commonwealth for World
5College Radio Day, which occurs on Tuesday, October 1, 2013; and

6WHEREAS, College Radio Day began in 2010, and was aimed to
7harness the combined listenership of hundreds of thousands of
8college radio listeners throughout the world, and to celebrate
9the important contributions of college radio by uniting for this
10one day a year; and

11WHEREAS, Last year, 585 stations across 29 different
12countries participated, and the day was a huge success; and

13WHEREAS, To date, there are now more than 650 college radio
14stations in 33 countries registered for the upcoming October 1st
15celebration; and

16WHEREAS, The aim of College Radio Day is to raise a greater,
17international awareness of the many college and high school

1radio stations that operate around the world by encouraging
2people who would not normally listen to college radio to do so
3on this day; therefore be it

4RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate October
51, 2013, as "College Radio Day" in Pennsylvania.
