1Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the
2Borough of Abbottstown, Adams County.

3WHEREAS, The Borough of Abbottstown was founded on the day
4that the deeds for the plots of land were put up for sale by
5John Abbott, October 19, 1763; and

6WHEREAS, The borough covers 384 acres and has a population of
7approximately 1,011 people; and

8WHEREAS, The borough is blessed with rich land and
9industrious people; and

10WHEREAS, Throughout 2013, the residents of Abbottstown will
11reflect on the rich, vibrant history of their small community;
12therefore be it

13RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commemorate the
14250th anniversary of the founding of the Borough of Abbottstown,
15Adams County.
