A RESOLUTION

 

1Congratulating the Bishop Canevin High School Girls' Basketball
2Team upon its stellar season and championship victories.

3WHEREAS, The outstanding achievements realized by the youth
4of this nation in a spirit of personal sacrifice, commitment to
5a common goal and unity of purpose is recognized; and

6WHEREAS, The Bishop Canevin High School Girls' Basketball
7Team is being honored upon capturing the 2012-2013 PIAA State
8Class AA Girls' Basketball Championship; and

9WHEREAS, To their great credit, the Crusaders won the State
10title by defeating York Catholic High School with a score of 45
11to 38 and finished the season with a record of 27 wins and 4
12losses. The team members further distinguished themselves by
13winning the school's first WPIAL Class AA (PIAA District VII
14Class AA) Girls' Basketball Championship. Under the expert
15guidance of Head Coach Tim Joyce and Assistant Coaches Jenn
16O'Shea, Lauren Wilmus and Wim Rogers, the team was comprised of

1Erin Joyce, Natasha Rajakovich, Alaina McGuire, Caroline
2DeFrank, Riley O'Donnell, Carly Forse, Erin Waskowiak, Celina
3DiPietro, Gina Vallecorsa, Johnie Olkosky, Leah Narkevic,
4Karissa Shaner, Riana Conway, Mackenzie Mangum, Kylee Sonson,
5Kaitlin Sonson, Becca Turney, Caroline Clarke and Mary Tresky;
6therefore be it

7RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives heartily
8congratulate the Bishop Canevin High School Girls' Basketball
9Team upon its stellar season and championship victories,
10acknowledge its investment of skill and effort in competing on a
11level which demands perfection and offer best wishes for
12continued success in all future endeavors; and be it further

13RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
14the Bishop Canevin High School Girls' Basketball Team, 2700
15Morange Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15205.
