A RESOLUTION
1Recognizing the week of May 12 through 18, 2013, as "National
2Women's Health Week" in Pennsylvania.
3WHEREAS, "National Women's Health Week" is a national effort
4to raise awareness about manageable steps women can take to
5improve their health; and
6WHEREAS, Many of the leading causes of death among women can
7be successfully prevented or treated if the warning signs are
8detected early enough; and
9WHEREAS, According to the United States Department of Health
10and Human Services, getting regular checkups, being physically
11active, eating a healthy diet, not smoking and paying attention
12to mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing
13stress, are five health habits for improving women's health; and
1WHEREAS, "National Women's Health Week" stresses the
2importance of taking appropriate health actions based on
3individual backgrounds and risk factors; therefore be it
4RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
5week of May 12 through 18, 2013, as "National Women's Health
6Week" in Pennsylvania in an effort to raise awareness about
7women's health issues.
