A RESOLUTION
1Designating April 7, 2013, as "Random Acts of Kindness Day" in
2Pennsylvania in honor of the 95th anniversary of the birth of
3Mary Jane Leader, former First Lady of Pennsylvania.
4WHEREAS, Mary Jane Leader, former First Lady of Pennsylvania,
5was born on April 7, 1918, and was known for her dedication to
6providing service to others; and
7WHEREAS, Mrs. Leader lived by the motto "practice random acts
8of kindness" and incorporated this phrase into the culture of
9Country Meadows Retirement Communities, a health care company
10she founded with her husband; and
11WHEREAS, Mrs. Leader inspired others to provide service to
12and spread kindness through their communities; and
13WHEREAS, It is fitting to honor the life and memory of a
14caring and compassionate woman who gave so much back to her
15community and this Commonwealth; therefore be it
1RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate April
27, 2013, as "Random Acts of Kindness Day" in Pennsylvania in
3honor of the 95th anniversary of the birth of Mary Jane Leader,
4former First Lady of Pennsylvania; and be it further
5RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage every
6Pennsylvanian to brighten another person's day through a random
7act of kindness.
