1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, in snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles, further
3providing for definitions.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. The definition of "all-terrain vehicle" or "ATV"
7in section 7702 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8Statutes is amended and the section is amended by adding a
9definition to read:

10§ 7702. Definitions.

11The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
12shall have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the
13meanings given to them in this section:

14"All-terrain vehicle" or "ATV." A motorized off-highway
15vehicle which travels on three or more [inflatable] off-highway
16tires and which has:

17(1) a maximum width of 50 inches and a maximum dry

1weight of [1,000] 1,200 pounds; or

2(2) a width which exceeds 50 inches or a dry weight
3which exceeds [1,000] 1,200 pounds.

5"Off-highway tire." An inflatable or noninflatable tire
6manufactured for off-highway use by all-terrain vehicles.

8Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
