1Amending the act of July 8, 1986 (P.L.408, No.89), entitled, as
2reenacted, "An act providing for the creation of the Health
3Care Cost Containment Council, for its powers and duties, for
4health care cost containment through the collection and
5dissemination of data, for public accountability of health
6care costs and for health care for the indigent; and making
7an appropriation," further providing for expiration.

8The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9hereby enacts as follows:

10Section 1. Section 19 of the act of July 8, 1986 (P.L.408,
11No.89), known as the Health Care Cost Containment Act, reenacted
12and amended June 10, 2009 (P.L.10, No.3), is amended to read:

13Section 19. Sunset.

14This act shall expire June 30, [2014, unless reenacted prior
15to that date] 2020. By September 1, [2013] 2019, a written
16report by the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee
17evaluating the management, visibility, awareness and performance

1of the council shall be provided to the Public Health and
2Welfare Committee of the Senate and the Health [and] Committee 
3and the Human Services Committee of the House of
4Representatives. The report shall include a review of the
5council's procedures and policies, the availability and quality
6of data for completing reports, whether there is a more cost-
7efficient way of accomplishing the objectives of the council and
8the need for reauthorization of the council.

9Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
