AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of November 22, 2005 (P.L.407, No.74), entitled
2"An act establishing a program for breast and cervical cancer
3screening services for certain eligible women; and providing
4for the powers and duties of the Department of Health,"
5further providing for Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical Cancer
6Early Screening Program.

7The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8hereby enacts as follows:

9Section 1. Section 3 of the act of November 22, 2005
10(P.L.407, No.74), known as the Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical
11Cancer Early Screening Act, is amended to read:

12Section 3. Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical Cancer Early
13Screening Program established.

14(a) Program established.--There is hereby established within
15the Department of Health a program to be known as the
16Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Screening Program,

1which shall provide for the availability of annual breast cancer
2and cervical cancer screening services for low-income
3underinsured and uninsured women who are [40] 30 to [49] 65
4years of age.

5(b) Screening services.--The program shall be administered
6by the department for women who are eligible under subsection
7(c) and shall be targeted towards women who are at high risk for
8breast and cervical cancer.

9(c) Eligibility.--To be eligible for the program, an
10individual must meet all of the following requirements:

11(1) Be a woman who is [40] 30 to [49] 65 years of age.

12(2) Have a family income that does not exceed 250% of
13the Federal poverty level.

14(3) Have no health insurance coverage for screening
15mammograms, clinical breast examinations, Pap tests and
16pelvic examinations for women.

17Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
