1Designating the bridge that carries State Route 35 over the
2Juniata River, in Juniata County, as the Juniata County
3Veterans Memorial Bridge.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1.  Veterans Memorial Bridge.

7(a)  Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
8follows:

9(1)  Juniata County residents have served in every major
10United States military conflict going back to the Civil War.

11(2)  More than 5,000 military personnel from Juniata
12County have served in the defense of the United States.

13(3)  The bridge carrying State Route 35 over the Juniata
14River displays 12 flags, six representing the United States,
15five representing the five branches of the military and one
16flag remembering Prisoners of War/Missing in Action to honor
17the citizens of the county who have served or are currently

1serving our nation in the armed forces.

2(b)  Designation.--The bridge that carries State Route 35
3over the Juniata River is designated the Juniata County Veterans
4Memorial Bridge.

5(c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
6maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
7traffic in both directions on the bridge.

8Section 2.  Effective date.

9This act shall take effect in 60 days.
