AN ACT
1Designating a bridge on that portion of S.R. 3005 over the West
2Branch Susquehanna River, Greenwood Township, Clearfield
3County, as the 1st Lieutenant Wendell Elbert Ross Memorial
4Bridge.
5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:
7Section 1. Wendell Elbert Ross Memorial Bridge.
8(a) Findings.--
9(1) 1st Lieutenant Wendell Elbert Ross was born in
10Lumber City, Pennsylvania, and bravely served in Company B,
11141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division of the United
12States Army during World War II.
13(2) While heroically serving his country, 1st Lieutenant
14Ross was killed by sniper fire in Italy on February 11, 1944.
15(b) Designation.--The bridge located on S.R. 3005 in
1Greenwood Township, Clearfield County, over the West Branch
2Susquehanna River is hereby designated the 1st Lieutenant
3Wendell Elbert Ross Memorial Bridge.
4(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
5maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
6traffic in both directions on the bridge.
7Section 2. Effective date.
8This act shall take effect in 60 days.
