AN ACT
1Amending Title 5 (Athletics and Sports) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in regulation of professional
3wrestling contests and exhibitions, further providing for
4physician to be in attendance.
5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:
7Section 1. Section 2104 of Title 5 of the Pennsylvania
8Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9§ 2104. Physician<-, physician assistant or certified registered
10nurse practitioner to be in attendance.
11(a) General rule.--Before any professional wrestling contest
12or exhibition shall take place, the promoter and the operator of
13the arena or facility shall employ a physician<-, physician
14assistant or certified registered nurse practitioner to be
15present at every wrestling contest or exhibition. The physician<-,
16physician assistant or certified registered nurse practitioner
17shall observe the physical condition of the participants
18throughout the contest or exhibition and shall be authorized to
1terminate the contest or exhibition when, in his judgment,
2severe injury would result if the contest or exhibition were to
3continue.
4(b) Payment of fee.--The [physician's] fee for the
5physician<-, physician assistant or certified registered nurse
6practitioner shall be paid by the promoter.
7(c) <-Definition.--For purposes of this section, a "certified

10unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
11"Certified registered nurse practitioner" is an individual
12who is eligible to practice in accordance with sections 8.2, 8.3
13and 8.7 of the act of May 22, 1951 (P.L.317, No.69), known as
14The Professional Nursing Law.
<-15"Physician assistant." An individual who is eligible to
16practice in accordance with section 13 of the act of December
1720, 1985 (P.L.457, No.112), known as the Medical Practice Act of
181985.
19Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
