AN ACT

 

1Designating the section of Pennsylvania Route 232 in Bryn Athyn,
2Montgomery County, as the SPC Tristan C. Smith Memorial
3Highway.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. SPC Tristan C. Smith Highway.

7(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
8follows:

9(1) SPC Tristan C. Smith graduated from high school in
102002, studied at Bryn Athyn College for two years and joined
11the United States Army in July 2004.

12(2) SPC Tristan C. Smith died in Taji, Iraq, on August
1327, 2006, when an improvised explosive device detonated near
14his M2A3 Bradley Vehicle during a combat operation.

15(3) SPC Tristan C. Smith was survived by his parents,

1Grant and Kimberly Smith, and his siblings, Alizah, Jennica
2and Jaron.

3(b) Designation.--The section of Pennsylvania Route 232 in
4Bryn Athyn, Montgomery County is hereby designated as the SPC
5Tristan C. Smith Memorial Highway.

6(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
7maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the highway to
8traffic in both directions on the highway.

9Section 2. Effective date.

10This act shall take effect immediately.
