AN ACT

 

1Designating a bridge on that portion of <-S.R. State Route 3019
2over the Schuylkill River, City of Philadelphia, Philadelphia
3County, as the Honorable Robert C. Donatucci Memorial Bridge<-; 
4and designating a portion of State Route 23 in West Hempfield 
5Township, Lancaster County, as the SFC Brent Adams Memorial 
6Road.

7The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8hereby enacts as follows:

9Section 1. Honorable Robert C. Donatucci Memorial Bridge.

10(a) Findings.--

11(1)  Robert "Bobby" Donatucci was a Democratic member of
12the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the
13185th Legislative District from 1980 until 2010. The 185th
 

1District includes the 26th Ward in South Philadelphia, half 
2of the 40th Ward in Southwest Philadelphia and three 
3communities in Delaware County: Darby Township, Darby Borough 
4and Colwyn Borough.

5(2)  A native of Philadelphia, Representative Donatucci 
6graduated from Bishop Neuman High School in 1970 and 
7from Temple University in 1974 where he majored in political 
8science.

9(3)  He was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of 
10Representatives in a special election on March 11, 1980.

11(4)  Representative Donatucci served as chair of the 
12House Liquor Control Committee from 1993 until his passing. 
13As chairman of the Liquor Control Committee, he was charged
14with overseeing the State Store system that dated to the end
15of Prohibition and worked tirelessly on the prevention of
16underage drinking.

17(5)  Representative Donatucci was well respected in his
18community and had a passion for classic cars.

19(6)  Sadly, on November 9, 2010, Representative Robert
20Donatucci passed away suddenly.

21(7)  He is survived by his wife, Maria; two children, 
22Dierdre and Thomas; mother, Yolanda; brothers, Ronald and 
23Thomas and sisters, Rita and Maria.

24(b)  Designation.--The bridge carrying <-S.R. State Route 3019 
25over the Schuylkill River in the City of Philadelphia, 
26Philadelphia County, commonly known as the Passyunk Avenue 
27Bridge, is hereby designated as the Honorable Robert C. 
28Donatucci Memorial Bridge.

29(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
30maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to

1traffic in both directions on the bridge.

<-2Section 2.  SFC Brent Adams Memorial Road.

3(a)  Findings.--

4(1)  SFC Brent Adams was a native of West Hempfield
5Township, Lancaster County.

6(2)  SFC Adams graduated from Hempfield High School in
71983 and later from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

8(3)  SFC Adams served in the Pennsylvania Army National
9Guard for almost 18 years and was killed in action on
10December 1, 2005, in Ramadi, Iraq.

11(4)  SFC Adams was awarded the Bronze Star and a Purple
12Heart.

13(5)  Before his deployment to Iraq, SFC Adams was
14employed by Sprint in Pittsburgh and was president of his
15church council.

16(6)  SFC Adams was the beloved father of Daniel Adams,
17beloved son of Barbara and John Benard, beloved grandson of
18K. Arlene Wimer, beloved brother of Melissa Adams and beloved
19uncle to Alexandria, Lillian and Michael Nalevanko.

20(b)  Designation.--State Route 23 from the intersection of
21Ivy Drive to the intersection of Prospect Road in West Hempfield
22Township, Lancaster County, is hereby designated as the SFC
23Brent Adams Memorial Road.

24(c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
25maintain appropriate signs to display the name of the road to
26traffic in both directions.

27Section <-2 3. Effective date.

28This act shall take effect in 60 days.
