1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, providing for the United States Olympic plates.

3The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4hereby enacts as follows:

5Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
6Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

7§ 1370. United States Olympic plates.

8(a) General rule.--The department, in consultation with the
9United States Olympic Committee or its designees, shall design a
10special United States Olympic registration plate which shall
11display the official United States Olympic Committee logo and
12wording which indicates support for the advancement of
13excellence in amateur athletic competition in this Commonwealth.
14Upon application of any person, accompanied by an additional fee
15of $40, which shall be in addition to the annual registration
16fee, the department shall issue the plate for a passenger car,

1motor home, trailer or truck with a registered gross weight of
2not more than 10,000 pounds.

3(b) Initial fee.--Of the initial fee charged for the United
4States Olympic Registration Plate, $20 shall be retained by the
5Commonwealth and $20 shall be distributed to the United States
6Olympic Committee, which may distribute the funds to one or more
7organizations in this Commonwealth which focus on the
8advancement of excellence in amateur athletics.

9(c) Renewal fee.--An annual fee of $25 shall be charged, in
10addition to the annual registration fee, for the United States
11Olympic Registration Plate. Of the renewal fee, the United
12States Olympic Committee shall distribute at least 50% to one or
13more organizations in this Commonwealth which focus on the
14advancement of excellence in amateur athletics as designated by
15the United States Olympic Committee.

16Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
