AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), entitled
2"An act concerning elections, including general, municipal,
3special and primary elections, the nomination of candidates,
4primary and election expenses and election contests; creating
5and defining membership of county boards of elections;
6imposing duties upon the Secretary of the Commonwealth,
7courts, county boards of elections, county commissioners;
8imposing penalties for violation of the act, and codifying,
9revising and consolidating the laws relating thereto; and
10repealing certain acts and parts of acts relating to
11elections," further providing for reporting by candidate and
12political committees and other persons.

13The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
14hereby enacts as follows:

15Section 1. Section 1626(d) of the act of June 3, 1937 
16(P.L.1333, No.320), known as the Pennsylvania Election Code,
17amended July 11, 1980 (P.L.600, No.128), is amended to read:

18Section 1626. Reporting by Candidate and Political
19Committees and other Persons.--

21(d) Pre-election reports by candidates for offices to be
22voted for by the electors of the State at large, candidates for 

1the office of Senator in the General Assembly, candidates for 
2the office of Representative in the General Assembly and all
3political committees, which have expended money for the purpose
4of influencing the election of such [candidate] candidates,
5shall be filed not later than the sixth Tuesday before and the
6second Friday before an election, provided that the initial pre-
7election report shall be complete as of fifty (50) days prior to
8the election and the subsequent pre-election report shall be
9complete as of fifteen (15) days prior to the election. Pre-
10election reports by all other candidates and political
11committees which have received contributions or made
12expenditures for the purpose of influencing an election shall be
13filed not later than the second Friday before an election,
14provided that such report be complete as of fifteen (15) days
15prior to the election.

17Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
