1Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for deputy waterways conservation
3officers.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 305 of Title 30 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

8§ 305. Deputy waterways conservation officers.

10(a.1) Employment preference.--A deputy waterways
11conservation officer who has completed at least three years of
12active service prior to the taking of the civil service exam for
13waterways conservation officer or waterways conservation officer
14trainee shall be eligible for the following preference applied
15to the civil service exam score and applicant selection process:

16(1) A deputy waterways conservation officer who passes
17the civil service exam for waterways conservation officer or
18waterways conservation officer trainee shall have ten points
19added to the officer's final score.

1(2) A deputy waterways conservation officer who is among
2the top three available candidates on the certification list
3for waterways conservation officer or waterways conservation
4officer trainee shall have mandatory preference appointment
5over nonveteran candidates.

6(3) A deputy waterways conservation officer who is on
7the civil service list for the position of waterways
8conservation officer or waterways conservation officer
9trainee may be appointed regardless of the officer's rank on
10the list.
