1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, providing for special farmland preservation
3registration plates and for the use of a portion of the fee
4for the plate.

5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:

7Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

9§ 1369.1. Farmland preservation registration plate.

10(a) Plate.--The department, in consultation with the Bureau
11of Farmland Preservation, shall design a special farmland
12preservation registration plate. Upon application of any person,
13accompanied by a fee of $35 which shall be in addition to the
14annual registration fee, the department shall issue the plate
15for a passenger car or other vehicle with a registered gross
16weight of not more than 9,000 pounds.

1(b) Use of fee.--Of each fee paid under subsection (a), $15 
2shall be deposited into the Agricultural Conservation Easement 
3Purchase Fund established under the act of June 30, 1981 
4(P.L.128, No.43), known as the Agricultural Area Security Law, 
5to preserve farmland in Pennsylvania.

6Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
