1Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for aggravated
3assault.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 2702(a)(2) and (3) of Title 18 of the
7Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

8§ 2702. Aggravated assault.

9(a) Offense defined.--A person is guilty of aggravated
10assault if he:

12(2) attempts to cause or intentionally, knowingly or
13recklessly causes serious bodily injury to any of the
14officers, agents, employees or other persons enumerated in
15subsection (c) or to an employee of an agency, company or
16other entity engaged in public transportation, while in the

1performance of duty or to a child under six years of age;

2(3) attempts to cause or intentionally or knowingly
3causes bodily injury to any of the officers, agents,
4employees or other persons enumerated in subsection (c), in
5the performance of duty or to a child under six years of age;

7Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
