1Amending the act of August 15, 1961 (P.L.987, No.442), entitled
2"An act relating to public works contracts; providing for
3prevailing wages; imposing duties upon the Secretary of Labor
4and Industry; providing remedies, penalties and repealing 
5existing laws," further providing for the definition of 
6"public work."

7The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8hereby enacts as follows:

9Section 1. Section 2(5) of the act of August 15, 1961
10(P.L.987, No.442), known as the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage
11Act, amended August 9, 1963 (P.L.653, No.342), is amended to
12read:

13Section 2. Definitions.--As used in this act--

15(5) "Public work" means construction, reconstruction,
16demolition, alteration and/or repair work other than maintenance
17work, done under contract and paid for in whole or in part out
18of the funds of a public body where the estimated cost of the

1total project is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars
2($25,000), but shall not include work performed under a
3rehabilitation or manpower training program[.], work performed 
4on a project by or on behalf of a health care facility as 
5defined in section 103 of the act of July 19, 1979 (P.L.130, 
6No.48), known as the "Health Care Facilities Act," or work 
7performed on a project by or on behalf of an entity subject to 
8Article IX or X of the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), 
9known as the "Public Welfare Code."
