1Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in protection from abuse, further 
3providing for commencement of proceedings.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 6106 of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

8§ 6106. Commencement of proceedings.

10(a.3) Notification regarding child abuse investigation.--

11(1) If the plaintiff has knowledge of a <-child abuse
12investigation <-founded or indicated report of child abuse
13under Chapter 63 (relating to child protective services)
14involving the defendant, the petition shall include that
15information together with the name of the investigative
16agency.

1(2) The petition shall include notice to the defendant
2that an order issued under this chapter may have an impact on
3the defendant under Chapter 63 <-(relating to child protective
4services). The court shall develop procedures to implement
5the provisions of this paragraph.

<-7Section 2. The addition of 23 Pa.C.S. § 6106(a.3) shall
8apply to:

9(1) An action under 23 Pa.C.S. Ch. 61 filed on or after
10the effective date of this act.

11(2) A petition to modify or extend a protection from
12abuse order under 23 Pa.C.S. Ch. 61 filed on or after the
13effective date of this act.

14Section <-2 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
