AN ACT

  

1

Amending the act of July 2, 1984 (P.L.561, No.112), entitled "An

2

act establishing the Pennsylvania Conservation Corps; and

3

making an appropriation," further providing for the

4

definitions of "department" and "secretary," transferring the

5

administration of the Pennsylvania Conservation Corps from

6

the Department of Labor and Industry to the Department of

7

Conservation and Natural Resources.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

9

hereby enacts as follows:

10

Section 1.  The definitions of "department" and "secretary"

11

in section 2 of the act of July 2, 1984 (P.L.561, No.112), known

12

as the Pennsylvania Conservation Corps Act, amended June 25,

13

1997 (P.L.339, No.38), are amended to read:

14

Section 2.  Definitions.

15

The following words and phrases when used in this act shall

16

have the meanings given to them in this section unless the

17

context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Department."  The Department of [Labor and Industry]

Conservation and Natural Resources.

"Secretary."  The Secretary of [Labor and Industry]

Conservation and Natural Resources.

Section 2.  Section 3 of the act, amended July 2, 1993

6

(P.L.350, No.49), is amended to read:

7

Section 3.  Pennsylvania Conservation Corps created.

8

There is hereby created within the Department of [Labor and

9

Industry] Conservation and Natural Resources the Pennsylvania

10

Conservation Corps.

Section 3.  The act is amended by adding a section to read:

Section 12.2. Transfers. 

13

There are transferred from the Department of Labor and

14

Industry to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources

15

all of the following:

16

(1)  The property, supplies, equipment and records being

17

used in the administration of the act.

18

(2)  The personnel employed in the administration of the

19

act.

20

(3)  The unexpended balances of appropriations,

21

allocations and other funds available under the act.

22

(4)  The rights and obligations of contracts entered into

23

under the act.

24

Section 4.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
