AN ACT

Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, providing for license and permit issuance options;

3

and further providing for expiration of licenses and permits.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 30 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

7

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

8

§ 2717.  License and permit issuance options.

9

(a)  Multi-year license or permit.--The commission may issue

10

a license or permit that is valid for multiple years. The fee

11

for a multi-year license or permit may not exceed the total fees

12

for the applicable individual license or permit years set forth

13

in section 2715 (relating to license, permit and issuing agent

14

fees). A multi-year license or permit shall expire on December

15

31 of the last year for which it was issued.

(b)  Group license or permit.--The commission may issue a

17

license or permit that is valid for a group of individuals who

18

meet the criteria established by the commission. The fee for a

group license or permit may not exceed the total fees for the

2

applicable individual licenses or permits set forth in section

3

2715.

(c)  Promotional discounts.--For marketing and promotional

5

purposes, the commission may issue a license or permit for a fee

6

that is less than the applicable fees set forth in section 2715,

7

in accordance with guidelines established by the commission.

8

(d)  Regulations.--If the commission elects to issue multi-

9

year or group licenses or permits under subsection (b) or

10

initiate promotional discounts under subsection (c), it shall

11

promulgate regulations relating to group criteria and

12

promotional discounts in order to implement this section.

(e)  Penalties.--A person who violates regulations

14

promulgated under this section commits a summary offense of the

15

third degree.

Section 2.  Section 2907 of Title 30 is amended to read:

17

§ 2907.  Expiration of licenses and permits.

18

[All] Except as otherwise provided in section 2717 (relating

19

to license and permit issuance options), all licenses and

20

permits authorized by this chapter shall expire on December 31

21

of the year for which they are issued.

22

Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
