AN ACT

Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, further providing for resident license and fee

3

exemptions and for license costs and fees.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Sections 2706(f)(1) and (g)(1) and 2709(a) of

7

Title 34 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended

8

to read:

§ 2706.  Resident license and fee exemptions.

(f)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses.--

12

(1)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses shall

13

be issued by the commission or county treasurer to any person

14

otherwise eligible for a resident hunting license in this

15

Commonwealth who provides documentation that within the

16

previous 24 months the person was deployed overseas as a

17

member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard or Air

18

National Guard on active Federal service for a period of

19

[180] 60 consecutive days or more or was released early from

such service because of an injury or disease incurred in the

2

line of duty. Only one Pennsylvania National Guard hunting

3

license under this subsection may be issued for each

4

qualifying deployment of a person applying for the license.

(g)  Reserve component of armed forces hunting licenses.--

7

(1)  Reserve component of the armed forces hunting

8

licenses shall be issued by the commission or county

9

treasurer to any person otherwise eligible for a resident

10

hunting license in this Commonwealth who provides

11

documentation that within the previous 24 months the person

12

was deployed overseas as a member of the reserve component of

13

the armed forces pursuant to 51 Pa.C.S. § 7301 (relating to

14

definitions) for a period of [180] 60 consecutive days or

15

more or was released early from service because of an injury

16

or disease incurred in the line of duty. Only one hunting

17

license under this subsection may be issued for each

18

qualifying deployment of a person applying for the license.

§ 2709.  License costs and fees.

21

(a)  License costs.--Any person who qualifies under the

22

provisions of this chapter shall be issued the applicable

23

license upon payment of the following costs and the issuing

24

agent's fee:

25

(1)  (i)  Junior resident hunting - $5.

26

(ii)  Junior resident combination hunting and

27

furtaker - $8.

28

(2)  (i)  Adult resident hunting - $19 for the period

29

ending before July 1, 2011.

(ii)  Adult resident hunting - $25 for the period

beginning after June 30, 2011, and ending before July 1,

2

2014.

(iii)  Adult resident hunting - $30 for the period

4

beginning after June 30, 2014, and ending before July 1,

5

2017.

(iv)  Adult resident hunting - $35 for the period

7

beginning after June 30, 2017, and thereafter.

[(ii)] (v)  Resident military personnel hunting - $1.

9

[(iii)] (vi)  Former prisoner of war hunting - $1.

10

[(iv)] (vii)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting -

11

$1.

[(v)] (viii)  Reserve component of the armed forces

13

hunting - $1.

(3)  (i)  Senior resident hunting - $12.

15

(ii)  Senior lifetime resident hunting - $50.

(iii)  Senior lifetime resident combination hunting

17

and furtaker - $100.

(4)  Bear hunting:

(i)  Resident - $15.

(ii)  Nonresident - $35.

(5)  Antlerless deer:

22

(i)  Resident, including resident military, resident

23

disabled veteran and landowner - $5 for the period ending

24

before July 1, 2011.

25

(ii)  Resident, including resident military, resident

26

disabled veteran and landowner - $12 for the period

27

beginning after June 30, 2011, and ending before July 1,

28

2017.

(iii)  Resident, including resident military,

30

resident disabled veteran and landowner - $15 for the

period beginning after June 30, 2017, and thereafter.

(6)  Archery deer:

(9)  Adult nonresident hunting - [$100] $150.

(10)  (i)  Junior nonresident hunting - [$40] $5.

(ii)  Junior nonresident combination hunting and

(11)  Seven-day nonresident small game - $30.

15

(12)  Junior resident furtakers - $5.

(13)  Adult resident furtakers - $19.

(14)  (i)  Senior resident furtakers - $12.

(ii)  Senior lifetime resident furtaker - $50.

(15)  Adult nonresident furtaker - $80.

20

(16)  Junior nonresident furtaker - $40.

21

(17)  Resident disabled veteran hunting or furtaker under

22

section 2706(b) (relating to disabled veterans) - no cost.

23

(18)  Replacement license - $5. Antlerless deer and bear

24

licenses shall be replaced by the original issuing agent

25

only.

26

(19)  Owners or possessors of land open to public hunting

27

under section 2706(d) (relating to owners or possessors of

28

land open to public hunting) - $3.

29

(20)  Migratory game bird hunting license:

30

(i)  Resident - [$2] $5.

(21)  Elk hunting license:

(i)  Resident - $25.

(ii)  Nonresident - $250.

(22)  Special wild turkey license:

(i)  Resident - $20.

(23)  (i)  Adult resident combination hunting, furtaker,

archery and muzzleloader license - $67 for the period

10

beginning after June 30, 2011, and ending before July 1,

11

2015.

(ii)  Adult resident combination hunting, furtaker,

13

archery and muzzleloader license - $72 for the period

14

beginning after June 30, 2014, and ending before July 1,

15

2017.

(iii)  Adult resident combination hunting, furtaker,

17

archery and muzzleloader license - $77 for the period

18

beginning after June 30, 2017, and thereafter.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect as follows:

21

(1)  The amendment of 34 Pa.C.S. § 2709(a)(9), (10) and

22

(20) shall take effect July 1, 2011.

23

(2)  The remainder of this act shall take effect

24

immediately.
