| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the |
2 | Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for |
3 | problem-solving courts. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 916 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read: |
8 | § 916. Problem-solving courts. |

10 | (d) Imposition of surcharge.--A defendant convicted of an |
11 | offense in a problem-solving court established in the First |
12 | Judicial District may be ordered by that particular problem- |
13 | solving court to pay a surcharge of $25, which shall be |
14 | collected in the same manner as other court costs. In addition |
15 | to any grants or other money that may become available through |
16 | public or private sources, the money collected through this |
17 | surcharge shall be used by the county to fund the problem- |
18 | solving court or courts and the related treatment services. |
19 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
