AN ACT

Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, in hunting and furtaking licenses, further

3

providing for resident license and fee exemptions.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 2706(e), (f) and (g) of Title 34 of the

7

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

8

§ 2706.  Resident license and fee exemptions.

9

(e)  Military personnel hunting licenses.--Resident military

11

personnel hunting licenses shall be issued by the commission

12

[or], county treasurer or issuing agent to persons who satisfy

13

all of the following requirements:

14

(1)  Are residents of this Commonwealth.

15

(2)  Are on active and full-time duty in the United

16

States Armed Forces.

(3)  Are assigned to a facility outside this

18

Commonwealth.

(4)  Are on temporary leave in this Commonwealth.

Such persons shall comply with the regulations of the

3

commission.

(f)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses.--

5

(1)  Pennsylvania National Guard hunting licenses shall

6

be issued by the commission [or], county treasurer or issuing

7

agent to any person otherwise eligible for a resident hunting

8

license in this Commonwealth who provides documentation that

9

within the previous 24 months the person was deployed

10

overseas as a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard

11

or Air National Guard on active Federal service for a period

12

of 180 consecutive days or more or was released early from

13

such service because of an injury or disease incurred in the

14

line of duty. Only one Pennsylvania National Guard hunting

15

license under this subsection may be issued for each

16

qualifying deployment of a person applying for the license.

(2)  The commission may promulgate regulations to

18

implement this subsection.

(g)  Reserve component of armed forces hunting licenses.--

20

(1)  Reserve component of the armed forces hunting

21

licenses shall be issued by the commission [or], county

22

treasurer or issuing agent to any person otherwise eligible

23

for a resident hunting license in this Commonwealth who

24

provides documentation that within the previous 24 months the

25

person was deployed overseas as a member of the reserve

26

component of the armed forces pursuant to 51 Pa.C.S. § 7301 

27

(relating to definitions) for a period of 180 consecutive

28

days or more or was released early from service because of an

29

injury or disease incurred in the line of duty. Only one

30

hunting license under this subsection may be issued for each

qualifying deployment of a person applying for the license.

(2)  The commission may promulgate regulations to

3

implement this subsection.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
