| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Designating the week of May 13 through 19, 2012, as "Healthy |
2 | Families 2012 Week" in Pennsylvania. |
3 | WHEREAS, The family unit is a crucial pillar of a strong and |
4 | orderly society; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Sometimes families may need outside help in |
6 | maintaining a healthy and sturdy familial structure; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Many families are unaware of the different programs |
8 | and services available to them within their community to help |
9 | with a wide range of issues they may be experiencing; and |
10 | WHEREAS, Community and governmental organizations have a long |
11 | history of helping families get through difficult times, find |
12 | solutions to pressing problems and provide education on crucial |
13 | topics relating to their children; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Civic organizations, businesses, schools and |

1 | governmental entities should be continually encouraged to |
2 | promote the idea of family and togetherness through offering |
3 | diverse programs and events and educating the public about the |
4 | various services available to families within the community; and |
5 | WHEREAS, It is appropriate to honor the family unit as |
6 | essential to the continued well-being of the United States and |
7 | this Commonwealth and to recognize the positive effect strong |
8 | familial and parental bonds and civic organizations have on |
9 | children and communities throughout Pennsylvania; therefore be |
10 | it |
11 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the |
12 | week of May 13 through 19, 2012, as "Healthy Families 2012 Week" |
13 | in Pennsylvania; and be it further |
14 | RESOLVED, That the primary focus during "Healthy Families |
15 | 2012 Week" should be fostering and encouraging effective |
16 | parenting, increasing parent-child communication, understanding |
17 | and strengthening parent and child bonds and educating the |
18 | community about the numerous services and programs available to |
19 | families through events, workshops and programs. |
