INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, APRIL 2, 2012  

A RESOLUTION

Designating the month of April 2012 as "Anti-Bullying Month" in

Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, Bullying is one of the most common forms of

violence, verbal and physical, in schools; and

WHEREAS, It is estimated that thousands of children miss

school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other

students; and

WHEREAS, Bullying is a destructive, antisocial behavior that

is contrary to the principles of democracy and decency on which

our nation and this Commonwealth were founded; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare the month

of April 2012 as "Anti-Bullying Month" in Pennsylvania; and be

it further

RESOLVED, That all residents of this Commonwealth be

encouraged to combat bullying whenever and wherever such conduct

occurs.
