A RESOLUTION

Honoring Marine Sergeant Christopher M. Wrinkle of York County,

2

who was killed in Afghanistan on July 31, 2011.

3

WHEREAS, Christopher M. Wrinkle, 29, was born in Washington,

4

DC, on February 3, 1982, and graduated from Dallastown High

5

School in 2001; and

6

WHEREAS, He was a member of his high school's wrestling team

7

and enjoyed playing the trumpet and guitar; and

8

WHEREAS, A resident of Dallastown, Sergeant Wrinkle was

9

assigned to 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, Marine

10

Special Operations Regiment, United States Marine Corps Forces

Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; and

2

WHEREAS, He was a member of MARSOC, the Marines' equivalent

3

of the Army Rangers or the Navy SEALS; and

4

WHEREAS, Sergeant Wrinkle served in the Dominican Republic,

5

Haiti, Iraq and Afghanistan; and

6

WHEREAS, On July 31, 2011, Sergeant Wrinkle died in support

7

of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan's Herat province;

8

and

9

WHEREAS, He was a dog handler, and his military dog, Tosca,

10

also died; and

11

WHEREAS, Also killed was Staff Sergeant Patrick R. Dolphin,

12

of Lackawanna County and Dennis E. Kancler, of Ohio; and

13

WHEREAS, Sergeant Wrinkle is survived by his mother, Joan

14

Snyder and her husband, Kim; father, Carl M. Wrinkle; brother,

15

Mike Wrinkle; two sisters, Katherine Snyder and Karoline Snyder,

16

half sister, Becca Wrinkle, maternal grandparents, Phyllis and

17

Clair Runkle; grandmother, Frances Snyder; fiancée, Elizabeth

18

Cunnings and extended family; and

19

WHEREAS, Sergeant Wrinkle died in the courageous and valorous

20

service of his grateful nation and has earned the lasting

21

admiration and honor of its citizens; therefore be it

22

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the life of

23

Marine Sergeant Christopher M. Wrinkle and extend condolences to

24

his family and friends.
