| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Congratulating the Philipsburg-Osceola High School Softball Team |
2 | on winning the 2011 PIAA Class AA Softball Championship. |
3 | WHEREAS, On June 17, 2011, the Philipsburg-Osceola High |
4 | School Lady Mounties defeated Brandywine Heights High School |
5 | Bullets in the PIAA Class AA Softball Championship Game at Penn |
6 | State University's Beard Field by a score of 1-0; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Despite falling short in last year's title game to |
8 | Nanticoke, the Lady Mounties remained steadfast and determined; |
9 | and |
10 | WHEREAS, The Lady Mounties compiled a final record of 25-1 by |
11 | way of consistently executing their winning formula of solid |
12 | defense and pitching, emerging victorious as champions in a |
13 | low‑scoring but suspense-filled contest; and |
14 | WHEREAS, The Lady Mounties' 1-0 victory over the Bullets |
15 | served as the first shutout of the season for Brandywine |
16 | Heights, further underscoring the exceptional defensive effort |
17 | of the Lady Mounties; and |
18 | WHEREAS, This year's championship victory serves as the Lady |

3 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the |
4 | members of the 2011 Philipsburg-Osceola High School Softball |
5 | Team for capturing the PIAA Class AA Softball Championship; and |
6 | be it further |
7 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the |
8 | coaches and support staff, school administrators and other |
9 | enthusiastic supporters of the 2011 Philipsburg-Osceola High |
10 | School Softball Team on their collective victory and ultimate |
11 | display of sportsmanship; and be it further |
12 | RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to |
13 | Mr. Sam Witt, Principal of Philipsburg-Osceola High School and |
14 | to Jim Gonder, Head Coach of the 2011 Lady Mounties Softball |
15 | Team, 502 Philips Street, Philipsburg, PA 16866. |
