A RESOLUTION

Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study

2

the feasibility of a four-day workweek for State employees.

WHEREAS, State government is facing serious fiscal problems;

4

and

5

WHEREAS, The nation is facing serious energy problems; and

6

WHEREAS, A reduction in the length of the workweek for State

7

employees might help solve some of these problems; therefore be

8

RESOLVED, That the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee

10

study the practical and economic feasibility and the economic

11

and energy-saving benefits of implementing a workweek based on

12

four days but the same amount of total hours for State employees

13

working in areas other than corrections, emergency management

14

and law enforcement; and be it further

15

RESOLVED, That the committee complete its study and submit a

16

report to the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives by

17

June 15, 2011.
