| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study |
2 | the feasibility of a four-day workweek for State employees. |
3 | WHEREAS, State government is facing serious fiscal problems; |
4 | and |
5 | WHEREAS, The nation is facing serious energy problems; and |
6 | WHEREAS, A reduction in the length of the workweek for State |
7 | employees might help solve some of these problems; therefore be |
8 | it |
9 | RESOLVED, That the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee |
10 | study the practical and economic feasibility and the economic |
11 | and energy-saving benefits of implementing a workweek based on |
12 | four days but the same amount of total hours for State employees |
13 | working in areas other than corrections, emergency management |
14 | and law enforcement; and be it further |
15 | RESOLVED, That the committee complete its study and submit a |
16 | report to the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives by |
17 | June 15, 2011. |
