A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the week of April 10 through 16, 2011, as the "Week

2

of the Young Child" in Pennsylvania.

3

WHEREAS, As part of the "Week of the Young Child" celebrated

4

across the United States, Pennsylvania is honoring young

5

children and all those who make a difference in children's

6

lives; and

7

WHEREAS, Young children and their families depend on high-

8

quality education and care, which help children get a great

9

start and bring lasting benefits to our community; and

10

WHEREAS, The "Week of the Young Child" is a time to recognize

11

the importance of early learning and early literacy and to

12

celebrate the teachers and policies that bring early childhood

13

education to young children; and

14

WHEREAS, The Commonwealth is adopting this resolution in

order to recognize the efforts of the preschool programs and

2

teaching staff in Pennsylvania who are working daily to improve

3

the professional practice and working conditions in early

4

childhood education and to build public support for high-quality

5

early childhood education programs; therefore be it

6

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the

7

week of April 10 through 16, 2011, as the "Week of the Young

8

Child" in Pennsylvania.
