A RESOLUTION

Remembering Leon Dean Rudy of the City of Harrisburg, former

2

staff person of the House of Representatives.

3

WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has lost a valued

4

public servant; and

5

WHEREAS, Leon Dean Rudy died December 13, 2010, at 53 years

6

of age; and

7

WHEREAS, Mr. Rudy was a graduate of Northern High School,

8

York County, and of York College; and

9

WHEREAS, Mr. Rudy proudly served the House of Representatives

10

Democratic Caucus for 31 years as an aide and Research Assistant

11

to Representative Kurt D. Zwikl, Representative Paul McHale,

12

Representative John Pressmann, Representative Lisa M. Boscola,

13

Representative T.J. Rooney, Representative Joseph Corpora,

14

Representative David K. Levdansky and Representative Robert L.

15

Freeman; and

16

WHEREAS, From 1983 through 1994 and again from 1999 through

17

2010, Mr. Rudy served as the Special Assistant to Representative

18

Robert L. Freeman and assumed the position of Chief of Staff

from 2007 through 2010; and

2

WHEREAS, Mr. Rudy also served as President of the

3

Franklintown Borough Council; and

4

WHEREAS, Mr. Rudy served as President of the Northern York

5

County School Board of Directors; and

6

WHEREAS, In addition to his knowledge of State government,

7

Mr. Rudy enjoyed writing children's stories for his daughter and

8

granddaughter; and

9

WHEREAS, Mr. Rudy was a loyal friend to many and always

10

provided encouragement and support; therefore be it

11

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend its

12

deepest sympathies to Mr. Rudy's family, including his daughter,

13

Joleen Teates, his granddaughter, Mikayla Teates, and his eight

14

siblings; and be it further

15

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives remember Leon

16

Dean Rudy of the City of Harrisburg, former Chief of Staff to

17

Representative Robert L. Freeman, with profound appreciation for

18

Mr. Rudy's service on behalf of this Commonwealth; and be it

19

further

20

RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to

21

Mr. Rudy's daughter, Mrs. Joleen Teates.
