AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, further providing for vehicles exempt from

3

registration and for persons exempt from licensing.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 1302(2) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subparagraph to

8

read:

9

§ 1302.  Vehicles exempt from registration.

10

The following types of vehicles are exempt from registration:

11

(2)  Any implement of husbandry, trailer or semitrailer

13

determined by the department to be used exclusively for

14

agricultural operations and only infrequently operated upon

15

highways. Vehicles exempt from registration under this

paragraph shall be used exclusively upon a farm or farms

2

owned or operated by the owner of the vehicle or upon

3

highways between:

4

(i)  Parts of one such farm.

5

(ii)  Such farms located not more than 25 miles

6

apart.

7

(iii)  Such farm or farms and a place of business

8

located within a radius of 25 miles from such farm or

9

farms for the purpose of buying or selling agricultural

10

commodities or supplies or for delivery, repair or

11

servicing of the vehicle.

(iv)  Such farm or farms and a school that is hosting

13

an annual agricultural-related educational event for the

14

purpose of participating in that event, provided that the

15

distance between the farm or farms and the site of the

16

event does not exceed 15 25 miles.

Section 2.  Section 1502 of Title 75 is amended by adding a

19

paragraph to read:

20

§ 1502.  Persons exempt from licensing.

21

The following persons are not required to obtain a driver's

22

license under this chapter:

(6)  Any person 14 years of age or older may operate an

25

implement of husbandry on a roadway for the purpose of

26

driving that implement to an annual agricultural-related

27

educational event hosted by a school, provided that the

28

distance between the person's residence and the site of the

29

event does not exceed 15 miles.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
