AN ACT

Amending Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes, in general administration, providing

for annual salaries of supervisory employees.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 61 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

§ 1106.  Annual salaries of supervisory employees.

(a)  General rule.--A supervisory employee of the department

who is not subject to a collective bargaining agreement shall

not receive an annual salary from the Commonwealth which is less

than the largest annual salary received by the employee whom the

supervisory employee directly supervises.

(b)  Definition.--As used in this section, the term

"supervisory employee" means an employee who has the authority

to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge,

assign, reward or discipline other employees or responsibly

direct them or to adjust their grievances or effectively to

recommend such action.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
