AN ACT

Designating the bridge that carries State Route 66/28 over

2

Redbank Creek between the Borough of South Bethlehem,

3

Armstrong County, and the Borough of New Bethlehem, Clarion

4

County, as the Sergeant Joey Garrison Memorial Bridge.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Sergeant Joey Garrison Memorial Bridge.

(a)  Declaration.--The General Assembly declares that

9

Sergeant Joey Garrison made the ultimate sacrifice for this

10

Commonwealth on June 6, 2011, when he was killed in action while

11

serving in the United States Marine Corps in Helmand Province,

12

Afghanistan. Sergeant Garrison, 27 years of age, was assigned to

13

2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II

14

Marine Expeditionary Force.

(b)  Designation.--The bridge that carries State Route 66/28

16

over Redbank Creek between the Borough of South Bethlehem,

17

Armstrong County, and the Borough of New Bethlehem, Clarion

18

County, is designated as the Sergeant Joey Garrison Memorial

19

Bridge.

(c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall place and

2

maintain appropriate signs at both ends of the bridge as

3

designated in subsection (b).

Section 2.  Effective date.

5

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
