| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, in licensing of drivers, further providing for |
3 | surrender of license and for probationary license. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Sections 1540(b)(3)(i) and 1554(f)(12) of Title |
7 | 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to |
8 | read: |
9 | § 1540. Surrender of license. |

11 | (b) Suspension, revocation or disqualification of operating |
12 | privilege.-- |

14 | (3) The suspension, revocation or disqualification shall |
15 | be effective upon the earlier of: |
16 | (i) a date determined by the department such that |
17 | the effective date for a suspension resulting from a |
18 | first offense under section 3802 (relating to driving |
19 | under influence of alcohol or controlled substances), as |

1 | defined by section 3806(a) (relating to prior offenses), |
2 | shall become effective on a date subsequent to any other |
3 | suspension or revocation imposed resulting from a |
4 | conviction of another offense in the same matter and |
5 | certified to the department at the same time; or |

8 | § 1554. Probationary license. |

10 | (f) Unauthorized issuance.--The department shall not issue a |
11 | probationary license to: |

13 | (12) A person convicted of a violation of section |
14 | [1543(b)] 1543(b)(1.1) within the preceding seven years. |

16 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
